SUMMARY: A young, charismatic American Italian, Lauro de Bosis, succeeds in
humiliating Mussolini at home and abroad by dropping thousands of anti-Fascist
leaflets in a solo flight over Rome, but disappears afterward, leaving behind
an internationally acclaimed essay, “The Story of My Death.”
